Back to the Show and Tell page for various items of
eclectic
interest such as a 1913 colour photograph of a demure young woman and
two
photos of the Sun Beachgirl Quest circa 1950.

If you like this sort of thing, be sure to check out www.dollhousebettie.com
in San Francisco. They sell authentic vintage girdles, bras and the like, and go to
the trouble of beautiful photography and archiving the images of all
the items they have sold. For instance, a swimsuit from the 1950s, "Rose Marie Reid, Mermaid Maillot" with extraordinary fabric which seems to have gone out of fashion, and probably production, since then.

J.C Creations in Amsterdam http://www.jc-creations.com
makes corsets and has an extensive gallery of modern and
historical pictures and postcards.
C & S Constructions http://www.candsconstructions.com
in the UK make some beautiful, bright corsets. They have a lively
gallery, and an interesting history of corsetry by Pandora:
The Right Place, also in Germany http://www.the-right-place.com
makes their own corsets and sells those of a number of other prominent
companies. Their web site is a maddening frames-based thing which
requires
constant exploration and frequent trips to the home page to start
again.
But by doing so, some intriguing images can be found in the
galleries!
Click on these images for larger
versions. Like quite a few of the images here, I have
improved on the originals
a little with judicious sharpening of the image (unsharp mask) and
sometimes
some correction for colours, dark-light range and gamma.
Axfords, as mentioned below
is a widely respected corset maker. But they
also have some delicate contrivances such as these French Knickers and
Frou
Frou briefs. They also have delicate bouffant slips and a range
of
white cotton bloomers which reach below the knee, including split
bloomers.
Dark Garden http://www.darkgarden.com
makes beautiful, elaborate, imaginative corsets. Click on these images for larger versions.
Their site has four images of each corset.

"An Image Collection Specializing in Classic Bras and Foundation
Garments".
This is a fabulous site with many good photographs, such as those of a
Warners merry widow corset, and a striking long line bra . . . here.
They have a pictorial timeline of the key developments between 1900 and
1995. They also have a good collection of corset and bra
advertisements,
such as this
apparently transparent Hickory contrivance.
- Aristasia, the Feminine Nation http://www.aristasia.org
in association with New Lady Fashions sells 1950s style girdles,
suspender
belts and stockings. These include satin-panelled girdles and a
"deep
cotton suspender belt with broderie Anglaise front panel, in white with
pale blue embroidered decorations and all-round lace edging".
Bravo!
- Romantasy of San Francisco http://www.romantasy.com is a

18.5".
- Lingerie Lovers/Panty Art http://www.llapa.com/start.html

Other items on the site include a 1939 sales kit for silk
stockings.

- Eric Kroll's photography http://www.erickroll.com
celebrates girdles, corsetry and various other risqué and
bizarre
sensibilities. This commercial site features 54 different departments
of
kink! There is also a video: Girls
from Girdleville. I have seen images from this in a magazine
a few years ago, and they look most humorous and attractive, such as a
well presented woman, clad in shoes, stocking and 1950's satin girdle,
teeing up for a shot of golf.
