Padded girdles are also still being produced, along the lines of
those in the 1960s and 1991 Fredericks catalogue. There are some
at US retailer Lingerie Direct (http://www.lingerie-direct.com/catalog.asp
) Check this site out for an excellent range of intriguing bras and
corsets.
Note that these descriptions include registered trademarks.
Many of these designs are ones I have never seen before. I
believe they signal a revival in sensual, firm, exotic corsetry in the
early 21st century. Bravo!!!
No-one is forcing women to wear these items. Their popularity
indicates that some or many women like to be held close firmly
and
sensually.
I made these images so they would lead straight to the right page at Lingerie Direct, but they have changed their site. (BTW, I am not associated with them in any way.)
The first one (Bali 8244) has a "moulded" bottom - so it is padded. The second (Bali 8972) is a combined hook-up waist-cincher and panty.

Then (Bali 8279) a "slip" but really a long step-in open girdle. The Glamorise 4203 is a fetching high-waisted girdle.
