TR-909 modification prices for Australian customers

2019-12-19  Robin Whittle rw@firstpr.com.au

This page lists prices for customers in Australia, or who are overseas but wish their machine to be delivered to someone in Australia, who will return it to them.

To the TR-909 page: ../ for full descriptions of the following.
To the ../prices-int/ page for customers who are outside Australia.

These prices include GST and are for payment with cash or transfer to our bank account (we will email the details).

After your machine arrives I will discuss the modifications you want via email or phone.  I will confirm the work to be done with the total cost.  I can give estimates of repair costs, but not quotes.  Very often, while fixing one thing, other faults become apparent, and sometimes new faults develop which were not present at first.  TR-909s typically have one or more noisy transistors, but it is generally impractical to replace all the 122 or so transistors of this type in the whole machine.

The following lines can be copied into an email, deleting those which do not apply.    The items below do not include freight costs.  Please see ../../freight-insurance .  TR-909s are too valuable to be sent by Australia Post.

   $400     Testing; case, buttons and knobs cleanup;
            clean the 27 small pots and dismantle and
            clean the Volume pot;
install 0.22uF and
            1000uF capacitors for the RAM chip.

   $400     If the board has been sprayed with oil or
            if the above in-situ cleaning does not make
            all the 27 small pots noise-free, remove
            dismantle, clean, reassemble and re-install
            all these pots.

   $100     Hourly cost of any further repairs.
